The Federal Government has embarked on a measure to save President Muhammadu Buhari the hassle of a road journey from Katsina airport.
According to a report by This Day, the FG is building a helipad in Daura, Katsina state in order to ensure a direct flight for the president whenever he visits his country home.
A source who spoke to the media outfit on Saturday said the helipad when completed will make it easy to fly the President in one of the Presidential helicopters straight to Daura and by-pass Katsina Airport completely.
He said: “I can tell you that right now, they are building a Helipad in Daura and when it is completed he doesn’t have to fly to Katsina Airport again. Helipad is a kind of landing for Helicopters.”

Pray For Buhari, PDP Tells Nigerians

Pray For Buhari, PDP Tells Nigerians

The Peoples Democratic Party has evaluated President Muhammadu Buhari’s first month in office which it describes as “30 days of all motion and no movement”.
After its evaluation, the party resorted to a decision that Nigerians need to join hands in prayers to save the Buhari-led government from further inaction and dithering.
It would be recalled that President Buhari assumed office on May 29, 2015. However, the PDP said the call for prayers has become necessary given the fact that the Buhari administration is finding it difficult to locate its bearing in its first 30 days and even take off and face the challenges of governance at the centre.

TRAGEDY......Kenyan woman kills 3 children, eats their intestine

Kenyan woman kills 3 children, eats their intestine

A woman in Kenya has confessed to the police that she killed and ate her child.

 The vampire woman

A 20-year-old Kenyan woman, has confessed to killing three children, one of them her one-week old son, removed his intestines and ate them raw, reports Nairobi News.
The woman who lives in Korogocho, a slum in Nairobi, is said to have  have slit open her week-old son’s stomach, removed his intestines and ate them before going to her friend’s house and killing two other children.
The friend, Nelius Muthoni, told the police that the vampire woman came to her house in the morning and attacked her by trying to strangle her.
“She kept asking me why I named my son Peter Kimani and asked if I knew that my mother-in-law had been eating me. She said a lot of things and even said that there were demons inside me.
I ran out of the house to seek help from neighbours and when they arrived, they found her holding my 10-days-old son by the neck and under her feet was my 4-year-old daughter. She was stepping on her neck.
The neighbours pushed her out of the house and tried to help the children but they were announced dead at a nearby clinic."
When she was pushed out of the house, the woman is said to have run to the Korogocho Administration Police post where she reported that she had killed her child.
A police officer said:
“As we were interrogating her, neighbours who learnt that Muthoni’s children had died, also came here. They wanted to beat her but we shielded her."
A neighbour who was at the police post said the woman did not seem shaken and even asked for a soda at some point.
The police have also concluded plans to take her for a medical examination to ascertain her state of mental health.

How to frost a layer cake like a pro

How to frost a layer cake like a pro

  • Epicurious/Chelsea Kyle
Uneven layers and messy frosting be gone. It’s easier (and more fun) than you think to whip up a professional-looking layer cake. You just need these tips and...an ice cream scoop.
  • 1. Get Your Cake Prepped

    Epicurious/Chelsea Kyle
Set yourself up for success from the beginning by trimming the top of each cake layer with a long serrated knife—you want a flat, even surface for your frosting. Toss the cake trimmings into a 300°F oven and toast until crisp. Let the toasted cake cool slightly, then grind it into crumbs in a food processor and reserve for the final garnishing. Place one layer of cake onto a cardboard cake round, if you have one.
  • 2. Seal In The Moisture

    Epicurious/Chelsea Kyle
Nobody likes dry cake. Avoid it, and extend the shelf life of the cake, by brushing the top of the layer with simple syrup. Want bonus points? Use herbs, spices, or other flavorings to create flavored syrups. We like to pair lemon-vanilla syrup with a lemon buttercream, for instance, or a coffee-bourbon syrup with molasses spiced buttercream.
  • 3. Pipe a Border

    Epicurious/Chelsea Kyle
Make icing the layers easier by first piping a border of buttercream around the perimeter of the cake. This keeps the buttercream where you want it and prevents fillings, such as jam or custard, from oozing out.
  • 4. Frost the First Layer

    Epicurious/Chelsea Kyle
Control how much icing you slather between each layer by measuring it out with a spring loaded ice cream scoop. 2 to 3 scoops of buttercream in the center of the layer (roughly 1/2 cup) is a good amount. Use an offset spatula to gently spread the buttercream to the border.
  • 5. Create a Crumb Coat

    Epicurious/Chelsea Kyle
Add an extra scoop of buttercream to the top layer and carefully push it to the edges of the cake and then down the sides. Use a smaller offset spatula to spread the buttercream down the sides, making sure the entire cake is covered in a thin layer. (It's okay if the crumbs mix into the frosting a little; this layer will be covered again.) Drag the edge of the long offset spatula across the top of the cake, spreading the buttercream into a flat layer. Place the entire cake in the refrigerator to set, at least 30 minutes and up to overnight.

Alien-like worm invades US

Alien-like worm invades US

A bizarre invasive worm with its mouth in the middle of its belly has been found in the United States for the first time, according to new research.
The New Guinea flatworm (Platydemus manokwari) is only a couple of millimeters thick but grows to be up to 2.5 inches long. As its name suggests, the worm is a New Guinea native, but it has been spreading across the globe, hitching rides on exotic plants and in soil. The worm wraps itself around snails and ingests them with a mouthlike structure on its underside. As an invasive species, it's a threat to native snails — so much so that the Invasive Species Specialist Group of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) lists it among the 100 worst invasive species in the world.
The flatworm had previously been detected in the wild in 15 countries, as well as in a greenhouse in France, but this is the first time it's been found in North America. A multinational group of researchers, led by scientists at the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle in France, combed through flatworm specimens and photographs collected by locals around the world. [See Photos of Bizarre Flatworm & Other Destructive Invasive Species]
Spreading threat
The researchers discovered P. manokwari in five countries and territories where it had never been reported before: New Caledonia, a small collection of islands in the southwest Pacific; Singapore; the Solomon Islands, also in the southwest Pacific; Puerto Rico; and Florida.
The introduction of the species appeared to be recent in many of these cases. The worm probably arrived in Florida in or around 2012, the researchers reported in the open-access journal PeerJ. Since then, it seems to have established itself and can now be found in multiple places in Miami-Dade County.
In Puerto Rico, the worm showed up in San Juan, the capital, in 2014. The first discovery of the worm in the Solomon Islands also occurred in 2014, on Guadalcanal.
Wormy genetics
The researchers also discovered two genetic groups, or haplotypes, of the worm. These two groups are virtually indistinguishable except on the level of their genetic codes. One, dubbed the "Australian haplotype," was found only in Australia and the Solomon Islands. The other, dubbed the "World haplotype," has been found in France, New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Singapore, the Solomon Islands and Puerto Rico. The specimens found in Florida also belonged to this World haplotype.
The genetic findings suggest that both haplotypes of worm exist in their native New Guinea, but that for unknown reasons, only the World haplotype has spread significantly, the researchers wrote.
The discovery of the flatworm in the United States is particularly concerning because the flatworm had previously been confined mostly to small islands, they added. From Florida, however, P. manokwari could easily spread to the rest of the United States and the Americas

Photos: Uganda's 'ugliest' man becomes a dad for the 8th time

A man who was officially named 'Uganda's Ugliest Man' Godfrey Baguma, 47, has welcomed his 8th child with his second wife, Kate Namanda,, who he married in 2013. This will be Godfrey and Kate's 6th child together, he has two children with his ex-wife who he divorced after he caught her cheating.

Kate,30, gave birth to a baby girl earlier this week for Godfrey, who has a rare, unknown medical condition. Her first child for him was in 2008. Speaking on how they met, began dating and had children, Godfrey told Uganda's KFM:
‘I stayed with her four years before her people knew where she was. I didn’t want them to see me until we had a child because they'd definitely advise her to leave me. She left me when she was six months pregnant but I think she later accepted her fate because she came back two months later. I told her that I didn’t choose to look the way I do and that if she feels I am a burden, she is free to leave me’.
