A 26-year old houseboy, David Idah, has been
sentenced to death by the Ogun state high court in Abeokuta, the state
capital, for killing his former boss, Mrs Olufunmilayo Timeyin, who is a
retired senior magistrate.
Idah, who is from Benue state and worked as a house-help to late magistrate, was sentenced to death by hanging by Justice Abiodun Akinyemi today.
Idah killed his former boss, who was 65-years, at her residence in Laderin Housing Estate with a
matchet and slaughtered her on the 28th of March, 2014.
He carried out the action because he was sacked by the late magistrate after he was caught stealing. He scaled the fence of the house to carry out the dastardly act.
According to Punch, he was arraigned on April 4, 2014,on one count of unlawful killing. The offence contravened Sections 316 and 319 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun State, 2006.
Two months back, a similar incident occurred in Enugu state, a 65 year old grandmother was found dead in her bedroom at her residence. She was reportedly murdered by her teenage house boy.
